When Looking Beyond Today is Acceptable

Sabbath Devotional, September 30, 2023

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. (2) In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” —John 14:1-3

In John 16:33, Jesus tells us that we will suffer many tribulations, but we should remain courageous because He has overcome and conquered every enemy in this world including death. Gather up your forces of faith. Do not let anyone or anything make you lose sight of Jesus’ promise of coming again. Instead of looking inward with regret and despair, look outward and upward in faith.

Do not allow the past to overshadow the present and your future belief of Jesus coming again. Every day, tell yourself, “Jesus is coming back for me.” Amen.

Prayer: God, we pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on our lives. Give us strength and direction as we navigate through this tough journey of life. We need your help to move forward in faith. We ask this prayer in the Matchless Name of Jesus, Amen.

We believe in the entire Bible and that all scripture was written under the inspiration of God.

We believe in the Fourth commandment which tells us that the 7th Day, Saturday is the Sabbath. God blessed the Creation Sabbath and it is Holy. In Genesis, a day is identified as the evening and the morning, therefore, we observe the Sabbath from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset.

We believe that humanity was created in the image of God and that we are to love God and to love each other as God loves us.

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the only way to God is to believe Jesus died, was raised on the third day, and is now in heaven serving as our Heavenly Intercessor.
