Listen Carefully

There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death. Proverbs 14:12

This morning I prayed a Prayer of Confession and Repentance before praying a Prayer of Intercession for my brothers and sisters in Christ. I asked God to reveal to each of us how to live faith-based lives. There is an enormous gap between believing in God and applying spiritual principles to our lives, as evidenced by worry, fretting, and confusion.

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10. We acknowledge that the Bible is the Voice of God. When we receive instruction, it is a command, not a suggestion or recommendation. When God tells us to be still, it means that we are to pray and wait for His Divine intervention.

Yes, we do have a choice, as Adam and Eve made their decision to doubt and disobey God with deathly consequences. Satan used a beautiful serpent, visual imagery, to speak the deathly words; “You will not die. In fact, you will have the knowledge of a god.” We have a modern take on disobedience to God, it is impatience, and our desire to help God resolve the problems that diminish our faith and continue to lead us astray.

Pray and listen carefully to the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit.

You see and recognize what is right but refuse to act on it. You hear with your ears, but you do not really listen. Isaiah 42:20

Are you rushing through your prayers? Have you allowed God to speak victory into your life? Make the commitment to obey God, do not look at the bleak circumstances with your finite mind. Disbelief and wavering faith place limitations on the power of God in your life. He promised that he would never leave us or forsake us. His promises extend to every circumstance, stand firm on the Word of God. Live as if you know that God has you in His loving arms.

Satan accused God of protecting Job because he faithfully served him.

Job suffered severe trials and tribulations. He was unaware that God had placed a hedge of protection on his life when he was experiencing the greatest trials documented in the Bible. His children perished, and his wife openly demonstrated that she did not trust in “Job’s God.” Job’s close friends said: “Oh, you had to do something for God to bring this curse upon your life.”

Are we unable to hear God’s voice because we are listening to everyone else? The current pandemic is revealing who we really trust in, is it God or man? We are not alone! Our spiritual team, who never sleeps, is always ready to guide us out of harm’s way. For He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11. There is no guarantee that we will survive this pandemic. Even so, we should have the perfect peace that comes from the Father above. Very soon we will have Eternal life if we so choose.

God’s Promise:

When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. Isaiah 43:2

Our proclamation of faith and trust in God:

If the God whom we serve exists, then He is able to deliver us from the blazing fiery furnace and from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden statue you have set up.”” Daniel 3:17-18

Stay at home ordinance has allowed us to learn who God really is. Our part is to exercise our faith and trust in God by knowing what His promises are and waiting for His Divine guidance.

Pray, Study, Believe, Wait and Listen:

When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. Isaiah 43:2

Dear Brothers and Sisters believe as Job: But I know that my Redeemer lives, and in the end, He will stand upon the earth. Job 19:25

Pray for wisdom, do not be led astray by unbelievers, and do not be presumptuous. Remember that it is impossible for God to make a mistake. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9
