Yes, Life is Tough!

There was a time when my favorite phrase was, “Not again!” It was my cry of despair, when the challenges of life would surface and keep resurfacing, and those were tough times. Many years later, I realize that if God had not allowed the tough times, I would be stressed out, overwhelmed, and at the breaking point in my life right now.

In seven months, we have been hit with an infectious virus that has mutated six times and is still in full effect. The economy is in a state of recession with hunger, pending homelessness, and unemployment at an all-time high. Civil unrest, social injustices, political annihilation, fake news, misinformation, the rally for constitutional rights, and misery permeates our world. And then, there are the opportunists who are trafficking human cargo, scamming seniors to take their Stimulus monies, and performing riotous actions to justify stealing from others.

Yes, for the average person, life is tough and with presenting conditions it may get worse! I still endure struggles and hardships, but I call on the members of a powerful team to assist me with resolution and pray for the perseverance to make it through.

I would like to share Words of Life spoken by Jesus Christ, a member of this powerful Spiritual Team:

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on Earth, you will have many trials and Sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid. John 14:27

I am an average person who happens to be a Believer. The journey from being the victim of my circumstances to a victorious Overcomer was an uphill climb. Even so, God was still there at a time when I had lost all faith and excluded Him from my life. God used a stranger, an older woman in the store, to introduce herself and extend an invitation to worship at the church she attended. Before leaving, she stated, “Sonya, hang in there, God knows, and He loves you.”

Despite the overwhelming circumstances we find ourselves in, God is always a prayer away. Given the opportunity, He will demonstrate that He is our Heavenly Father. Try God today! Ask Him to help you to solve your challenges. When we have done all that is humanly possible, then God’s Divine Intervention brings supernatural power to our circumstances.

The Lord says I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with long life and give them my salvation. Psalm 91:14-16

Sharing this story of having the courage to move forward. Add God to the equation for taking steps to have a successful life.

This is Jim Thorpe. Look closely at the photo, you can see that he’s wearing different socks and shoes. This wasn’t a fashion statement. It was the 1912 Olympics, and Jim, an American Indian from Oklahoma represented the U.S. in track and field.

On the morning of his competitions, his shoes were stolen. Luckily, Jim ended up finding two shoes in a garbage can. That’s the pair that he’s wearing in the photo. But one of the shoes was too big, so he had to wear an extra sock. Wearing these shoes, Jim won two gold medals that day.

This is a perfect reminder that you don’t have to resign to the excuses that have held you back. So what if life hasn’t been fair? What are you going to do about it today? Whatever you woke up with this morning; stolen shoes, ill health, failed relationships, failed business, don’t let it stop you from running your race. You can experience more in life if you’ll get over the excuses and get on with living. You can have reasons or you can have results…but you can’t have both.

It takes courage, perseverance, faith, and trust to serve God in today's unstable world. Yet, we are never alone. Pray daily and pray often. Study the Bible. The Scriptures are a Love Letter from God to those who accept Jesus as their personal Savior. You will receive comfort, knowledge, and wisdom. God says, "I have loved you with an everlasting love."
