Reverence for the Lord

Our relationship with God is based on our intense love for Him. When I think of being young and falling in love for the first time, it was with naive adoration and dedication. Jesus replied, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Matthew 22:37. Our love for God is revealed through our surrender, obedience, faith, and trust in Him. To be a child of God is to trust and obey every God-breathed word in the Holy Scriptures. It is with reverence that we give our adoration through humility, praise, and honor to God.

As a recipient of unmerited grace and mercy, Jesus’ greatest gift is Redemption [in whom we have Redemption, through his blood, the forgiveness of sins.] Colossians 1:14. For Jesus’ sacrifice on Calvary and the suffering, the shame, and the spilling of his precious blood, our only gift to Him is the dedication of our lives. And we can be confident that Jesus is serving as our Heavenly Intercessor presenting us as forgiven to God, our Father. To receive eternal life is the reward for the faithful. As His commandment keeping disciples, we are to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. To love the Invisible God requires intense love, unwavering faith, intentional submission, commitment, and reverence.

Prayer: Merciful Father, we pray for a changed heart as we commit our lives to you. Please accept our worship. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen. © 2021 Sonya Johnson, Faithful Fishers Ministry

It takes courage, perseverance, faith, and trust to serve God in today's unstable world. Yet, we are never alone. Pray daily and pray often. Study the Bible. The Scriptures are a Love Letter from God to those who accept Jesus as their personal Savior. You will receive comfort, knowledge, and wisdom. God says, "I have loved you with an everlasting love." Jeremiah 31:3. Be blessed in Jesus' name. Amen.
