I have been young, and now am old, yet, I have not seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread. Psalm 37:25
Sixty years ago, on this date it was Thanksgiving Day. My Mother reflected on how she was ready to eat the delicious dinner that was prepared, and I begin to announce that I was ready for life outside of her womb. She was whisked off to the hospital and I arrived ready for the world.
The age of 60 is considered a milestone in one’s life, and it is a time to reflect on God’s favor and blessings. The many events (tragic) that have occurred in my life where God brought me through and I emerged as an emotionally and mentally stable Woman of God, was only possible from the Unconditional Love of God. I know that my Redeemer lives and He proves that He lives, loves, and cares about me on a daily basis.
At the age of 50, God brought true love into my life, I have a husband who provides, protects, and loves, my true “Angel,” te amo mucho. Thank you God for giving me a helper.
God always gives us what we need to make us whole. Because of our marriage, I have three beautiful grandchildren that make my heart melt, and their Mother is the daughter I never had.
I am blessed to have my Mother who is 85, two siblings, family in Texas, Maryland, Georgia, West Virginia, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Upstate New York. My circle of friends date back from the 60s-90s and we are still solid.
I have a younger Sister who always keeps me laughing, and is able to share her wisdom in the most humorous way.
I have two SPIRITUAL Sisters who provide support by standing on the truth, they love hard by keeping it real. We realize our goal is Eternal life and we base our friendship on that foundation.
God has blessed me with the spiritual gift to provide support to those in distress, on different levels. It has always been my desire to help others from a little girl. I did not understand my purpose in life then, even so, I did as God commanded.
Now I do understand the purpose that God has for my life. He has blessed me with the talent of writing, for the purpose of telling others of His greatness and His love for humanity.
In addition, I have talents passed on from my maternal grandmother, and mother: sewing, knitting, and crocheting, writing poetry and devotionals.
I have made the decision to serve God, no matter the cost or sacrifice. I have amped up my prayer life and study of God’s Word. Everyday remains a challenge to align my thoughts and behaviors to God’s standards. Although I constantly stumble and fall, God is always there to forgive and pick me up.
I am richly blessed by reaching this milestone; however, I am preparing for the great event: Jesus’ Second Coming and life in the New Heaven and New Earth.
Thank you to everyone for my birthday greetings.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
Dear God: Thank you for allowing me to reach my 60th birthday. May I continue to serve you and be faithful till the end. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
